ABOUT SCOOBY SOCCER
When we say that Scooby Soccer is the way soccer should be played – we mean that from the bottom of our hearts. We want to make sure that kids have fun while they are learning, because kids learn best when they are happy. Our program is age and stage appropriate so that players can take their time to enjoy learning new skills and having fun with their teammates.
Scooby Soccer was launched to provide an opportunity for all youth to play organized soccer and see them on the journey of reaching their full potential. Our professional staff work with our parent coaches to pass on their years of experience in the soccer world. Our coach mentors have been playing at high levels and are fully qualified and certified as professional coaches. Most have worked their way up through a grassroots program and into the professional world, bringing with them a unique insight into how young soccer players learn and grow.
Volunteers
Our organization relies on parent coaches, alongside our professional coaches, to teach our young players the basics of soccer.
We understand that there are some parents that don’t feel comfortable taking on the role of coach for a sport they may not have played themselves or have little knowledge of. Our parents are given training and support and bring with them a unique ability to connect with the children on their team.
There are many benefits to volunteering as a coach, one of the most important being you get to spend quality time with your child. We all know that kids grow up too fast and being able to spend this time with them at an early age is invaluable. Coaching your child’s team means you get to share in the highs and lows and feel a sense of accomplishment. At this young age, learning how to pass the ball is a thrill.
Scooby Soccer feels strongly that coaches need to instil an understanding of good sportsmanship. By showing your team how to be good winners, and losers, you are providing the sort of role model young athletes need.
It’s also really fun, seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter will brighten anyone’s day.
Say Hello
We have a great technical staff who are available at the sessions for guidance and support. Our philosophy is for our players to play in small-sided games to allow as many touches as possible. This will build skill in our players, but more importantly confidence. With confidence comes a love of the game. For more info call 905-512-0740 or email admin@scoobysoccer.com.
