SCOOBY SOCCER NEWS
SCOOBY NEWSLETTER March 16, 2011
The summer soccer season is quickly approaching and we are just over three months away from kick-off. If you have not received a confirmation email with payment instructions, please contact me asap. Our uniform pick up day will be Saturday May 7th between 10am and 12 noon at the Tansley Woods Community Centre, 4100 Upper Middle Road, Burlington. (south side of Upper Middle Road, just east of Walker's Line) Please mark it on your calendar. We are also looking for volunteers to help out at our uniform distribution day. Your commitment would be from 9am to 1pm on Saturday May 7th at the Tansley Woods Community Centre, Burlington. Please email me if you can help out.

We are still looking for coaches for several age groups. Most teams are currently without a coach. Your only commitment is to the once per week session, and we will provide you with the practice plan for each weeks session. Please let me know if you can coach your childs team.

Equipment - We provide shirt, shorts, socks and soccer ball to every player. Children must bring their soccer ball with them to each session. Shin pads are mandatory. NO SUNGLASSES, NO EARRINGS. Running shoes or soccer shoes are fine for footwear.
Absolute Soccer (4104 Fairview Street, Burlington) will give SCOOBY players a discount on items purchased in their store. Just mention your child is registered with SCOOBY to receive the discount. Shin pads, shoes etc are available for all sizes.

We still have sponsor space available. If you know of someone who would like to sponsor your childs team, please let me know and I can send you a sponsorship form. All sponsor names must be in to our uniform supplier by early March to allow enough time for screening, so if you are considering this, please act quickly.

Most of our age groups are filling up very quickly and some have waiting lists already. We would like to add more teams to our U9-U12 ages for both boys and girls. If you know of someone who may be interested in playing soccer this year, please recommend our league. We always honour special requests for players to play on the same team as their friend. Perhaps players from your winter hockey league, school friends or neighbours would be interested in playing together. Just ask them to go to our website at www.scoobysoccer.com and complete the special request section to ensure placement on the same team.
